Coffee granitas are another way to enjoy a slushie drink. With a treat of whipped cream on the top, it can be the ultimate coffee cooler for the summer.
Ingredients :
* 3 tablespoons of quality ground coffee beans
* 2 2/3 oz (75 g) (1/4 Cup) of sugar
* 17 fl oz (500 ml) (2 Cups) of boiling water
* Aerosol whipped cream
Steps :
1. Get a bowl and combine the sugar and coffee grounds. Pour the boiling water in and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
2. Place the sieve over the container and strain the mixture. Set the container aside and allow it to cool down.
3. Use plastic wrap to cover the container. Place it into the freezer for about 2 hours.
4. Remove it from the freezer after the 2 hours. Take off the wrapping and use a fork to break up the coffee mixture.
5. Mash it until you get more of a "slushed" iced mixture. Put back the wrapping and re-freeze the container for another 30 minutes.
6. Remove the container from the freezer and throw away the plastic wrapping. Use a fork to achieve a flaky creation and to break up any big chunks.
7. Use a spoon to serve the granita into glasses. Top the drink off with whipped cream and enjoy!
Tips
# If you want a really great kick to the drink, add an espresso shot. Depending how hot the shot is, it may melt the coffee granita.
